How to ensure each speaker is properly connected and working?

Step 1:

Go to Menu > Speaker.

The Sub-Menu will display the current speaker set configuration in your setup.

You would see 7.1.4 if speakers are correctly connected.

Step 2:

Play Dolby Labs “Functional Testing – Dolby Channel ID 7.1.4 (Ltf/Rtf/Ltr/Rtr)” to verify sound output.

How do I use the remote to control my Vevaldi?

Source Switch: Manual toggle between eARC / HDMI IN when Toggle Switch is set to Center (AOIP version supports eARC / HDMI IN / AOIP).

Karaoke version: When adjusting the microphone volume, a microphone icon will appear to the left of the volume number on the OLED display. This helps you distinguish between microphone volume and system volume adjustments.

Which devices can be connected?

Input: Devices with HDMI connections such as Apple TV, PC, PS5, XBOX, and Mac

Output: TV, display, or projector

Supports audio output to large external speakers. For connection methods, please refer to Vevaldi optional accessories.

Why does the VEVALDI OLED screen show "ATMOS" when playing 2-channel or 5.1 content?

This occurs because some playback devices (such as PCs) utilize HBR (High Bit Rate) signal transmission. You can think of this as an "Atmos Container." Even if the original source is only 2-channel or 5.1, the device encapsulates the audio within an Atmos signal for delivery. In this case, only 2 or 6 channels receive active signals and produce sound, while the remaining channels stay silent. This labeling is a standard industry practice (also used by brands like Sonos); as long as the system detects an Atmos-encapsulated signal, it will display ATMOS, though the actual audio content depends on the original source track.

Why is the audio not playing in Atmos even though the content is labeled as Dolby Atmos?

Even if the content supports Dolby Atmos, the signal may be downgraded if the audio settings on your playback device (source) are not correctly configured. Please ensure that your device's sound settings are set to output Dolby Atmos.

For example:

  • PS5: Go to "Settings" > "Sound" > "Audio Output" > "Audio Format (Priority)" and select "Dolby Atmos."
  • NVIDIA SHIELD: Go to "Settings" > "Device Preferences" > "Display & Sound" > "Advanced sound settings" > "Available formats." Switch to "Manual" and ensure all Dolby formats (Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD) are enabled.
When using Google TV Streamer as the source, why does the vocals sound strange during two-channel (stereo) playback?

This issue occurs because the Google TV Streamer performs an upmix when playing two-channel content, which can cause abnormal vocal output. To resolve this, please long-press the button at the bottom-left of the Vevaldi remote until the OLED screen displays "M OFF" in the bottom-right corner. This indicates that the upmix function is disabled, and the two-channel vocals will return to normal.

To re-enable the upmix function, simply long-press the same bottom-left button on the Vevaldi remote again until the OLED screen displays "MIXER".

When using Apple TV as the source and playing non-Dolby Atmos content (such as 2-channel audio), why does the VEVALDI LED still display "Dolby ATMOS"?

In a recent tvOS update, Apple introduced an advanced setting called "Continuous Audio Connection," which encapsulates all audio formats into a Dolby Atmos container. If you wish to listen to the original, unencapsulated audio format, please turn off this feature in the settings. Path: Go to Apple TV "Settings" > "Video and Audio" > "Audio Format" > HDMI Output "Continuous Audio Connection", and select "Off".

How to configure audio output format on Mac?

When using the VEVALDI with a Mac, macOS may not automatically switch the output format to match the source's native format. This can result in incorrect sound positioning. We strongly recommend manually adjusting your settings:

  1. Adjusting Output Channels Manually
  1. Navigation Path:
  • Press "Command" + "Space", search for "Audio MIDI Setup", and open the APP.
  • In the sidebar, select VEVALDI or your connected device name.
  • Click the "Format" drop-down menu and select the option that corresponds to your source audio.
  1. Adjustment Principles:
  • Playing 2-Channel content: Set output format to 2-channel.
  • Playing 5.1-Channel content: Set output format to 6-channel.
  • Playing 7.1-Channel content: Set output format to 8-channel.
  • Recommended Formats:
  • Music Use: 24-bit Integer, 44.1 kHz.
  • Movie Use: 24-bit Integer, 48 kHz.
  1. Dolby Atmos Support and Configuration
  1. Support Limitations: On the Mac platform, native Dolby Atmos is currently only supported by Apple Music and Apple TV. Other platforms (such as Netflix via browser or third-party apps) are limited to a maximum of 8-channel (7.1) output via system settings.
  1. How to Enable Dolby Atmos Output:
  • Go to "System Settings" > "Sound" > "Play sound effects through", and select VEVALDI or your connected device name.
  • Open "Music" or "TV" app.
  • Press "Command" + " , " to enter the Settings/Preferences menu.
  • Navigate to "Playback", set "Dolby Atmos" to "Automatic", and set "HDMI Passthrough" to "Prefer HDMI Passthrough".
Xiaomi Mi Box troubleshooting

Q1: Why does the screen appear discolored (e.g., green and pink) when Mi Box is connected to VEVALDI?

A1: Go to the Mi Box "All setings" > "Display & Sound" > "Dynamic range & Color format" > "Dolby Vision Processing”, and select ”Source device-led” to prevent signal conversion errors during transmission. Besides, ensure you are using a certified HDMI 2.1 cable and verify that the connection is secure to maintain the integrity of the 48Gbps high-bandwidth signal.

Q2: Why is the volume very low when using Mi Box with VEVALDI?

A2: The volume controls on the Mi Box and VEVALDI operate independently. If the Mi Box volume is set too low, VEVALDI cannot compensate for the loss of signal strength. Please set the Mi Box system volume to maximum (15) first. Then, use the VEVALDI rotary knob, remote or the V232 Bluetooth controller to adjust the actual listening volume.

How do I connect Vevaldi to the signal switcher?

Please follow the steps below to connect the signal switcher:

  1. Connect the Apple TV to one of the HDMI inputs on the switcher.
  1. Connect one of the switcher’s video outputs to the display.
  1. Connect one of the switcher’s audio outputs to Vevaldi’s HDMI IN.
The subwoofer doesn't feel powerful enough. Is there a way to adjust it?

Yes. You can enhance the bass performance through the following two methods:

  1. Switch EQ Modes: Press the EQ button on your remote control and switch to USER 2 or USERr 3 mode. Both are exclusively tuned for Vevaldi speakers, with USER 3 offering the maximum, most intense bass experience.
  1. App Customization: Connect the V232 Bluetooth Controller to your mobile device and open the official VEVALDI App. From there, you can access the equalizer settings to fully customize the EQ parameters to your personal preference.
